Musts: Must have a High Concept that declares their nature as a free-agent spellcaster, not part of the White Council. In addition, the character must take the following supernatural powers:
* Evocation [-3] (page 180)
* Thaumaturgy [-3] (page 181)

The player should take some time to work out their most often used and practiced spells before play.

Options: Every sorcerer should take
* The Sight [-1] (page 180) and possibly,
* Refinement [-1] once per spell ability.

Depending on their background, Sorcerers may have to take a Lawbreaker stunt or two. See page 77 for more information.
